On October 17, during a visit to the simulated wild ganoderma cultivation demonstration base in Shulu Village, Yangshimu Town, in Jiangxi’s Ji’an City, the vibrant sight of countless ganoderma mushrooms sprouting like little umbrellas greeted us. Villagers were busy harvesting the plump mushrooms, creating a bustling atmosphere.
Li Xuewen, the head of the base and a respected local figure, was actively guiding the villagers in their work. In an interview, he shared, “We have cultivated 260,000 ganoderma mushroom logs, which can be harvested after just one year of growth and continue to produce for three to five years. Thanks to the unique natural conditions here, the spores are abundant, giving the mushrooms great medicinal value.”
As a local leader in wealth generation, Li has traveled to Fujian multiple times to learn and attract investments. He returned to establish Wugong Mountain Henghui Biotechnology Co., Ltd., which has invested in constructing a high-altitude simulated wild ganoderma cultivation base using a “company + forest farm + farmers” model. To date, over 2,500 acres of highland ganoderma have been planted in Shulu Village and neighboring Yuejia Village, providing job opportunities for more than 50 local families. The ganoderma industry is expected to generate an annual output value exceeding 5 million yuan.
Sister Li, a worker at the base, smiled as she recounted her experience: “With the development of the ganoderma industry, we can come here to work during our farming off-season. I earn over 100 yuan a day, and during the two harvesting seasons a year, I can make a considerable income.”
The Shulu Village simulated wild ganoderma cultivation demonstration base has gradually evolved into a full industry chain encompassing cultivation, planting, processing, and sales. This summer, the first Ganoderma Harvest Cultural Tourism Festival was held, attracting many tourists, educational groups, and local residents, effectively merging economic development with ecological protection.
Since the beginning of this year, Yangshimu Town has innovatively created a “village-tourism investment” company that harnesses the wisdom and strength of local talents to develop unique agricultural and sideline products as a new economic engine, aiming to build a new growth hub for the industry.
A relevant official from the Anfu County United Front Work Department indicated that future plans involve encouraging more local figures to leverage their strengths and explore creating a “shared prosperity” model for forest economies in mountainous areas. This initiative will actively extend the industrial chains for ganoderma and Dendrobium candidum, paving a path for rural revitalization that prioritizes ecology and embraces green development.
