The 29th Annual Golf Charity Tournament for Donghua Hospital took place on the 21st at the renowned Olympic Club in San Francisco, drawing numerous community members and supporters committed to raising funds for the hospital’s new initiatives, including a brand-new cancer and infusion center.
The event kicked off with a ceremonial tee-off led by California Assemblymember Daryl Steinberg and State Treasurer Fiona Ma. This tournament offered supporters a fun and relaxed way to assist Donghua Hospital in navigating the current challenges facing the healthcare industry.
Dr. Jianqing Zhang, CEO of Donghua Hospital, shared his thoughts on the event: “The healthcare sector is facing unprecedented difficulties, and the generous support from the community is crucial for us.”
Funds raised during the event will primarily be directed towards establishing the new cancer and infusion center, significantly enhancing Donghua Hospital’s ability to provide specialized cancer treatment and care for the Chinatown community. Dr. Zhang emphasized the importance of this expansion, stating, “The development of the cancer and infusion center will ensure that patients and their families have access to professional medical services when they need them most.”
The day also featured a live auction hosted by former San Francisco Mayor Willie L. Brown, Jr. and City Council President Aaron Peskin. All proceeds from the auction will go directly to supporting the hospital’s expansion plans.
Expressing gratitude, Dr. Zhang added, “We sincerely thank all the guests who participated. Your generous donations will help us overcome healthcare challenges, allowing us to continue our mission of providing quality medical services suited to the community’s language and culture.”
