The first Shihua Trend Forum was held in Malaysia

On October 24, the inaugural World Chinese Trend Forum, organized by Malaysia’s Sin Chew Daily, took place in Kuala Lumpur.

Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia, Ouyang Yujing, attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech. In his address, Ambassador Ouyang discussed the current international situation and outlined China’s positions and proposals. He emphasized that China is committed to advancing high-quality development and modernizing in a way that aligns with its unique context. He also stressed the importance of China’s role in helping countries around the world achieve modernization, and its responsibility as a major power to maintain global peace and security while upholding international fairness and justice.

Reflecting on the 50 years of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, Ouyang highlighted the two countries’ enduring principles of strategic autonomy, win-win cooperation, and cultural affinity. He urged both nations to use the strategic consensus of their leaders as a guide for deepening friendships and enhancing collaboration, striving to build a community of shared destiny characterized by high mutual trust, prosperous development, connected people, and collaborative unity.

The theme of this year’s World Chinese Trend Forum was “On the Shoulders of Giants: Looking Forward to the Future.” The event was attended by around 500 participants, including Malaysia’s Minister of Transport Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Science and Technology Chang Lih Kang, and Zhang Cong, Chairman of the World Chinese Media Group, along with various representatives from Malaysian society.
