On October 17, spectators took pictures with Anhui’s intangible cultural heritage representative project, the “Wang Mantian Fish Lantern.” This marked the opening of the 8th China Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo in Jinan, Shandong Province. The expo featured 211 intangible cultural heritage projects and more than 100 representative inheritors, showcasing the achievements in preserving intangible cultural heritage over the past 20 years since the approval of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Additionally, on the same day, Wu Shuigen, a representative inheritor of the national-level intangible cultural heritage skill of “Miao Silver Jewelry Forging,” arranged the exhibited “Silver Crown.”
Audience members also admired the nationally recognized intangible cultural heritage project, the “Rongchang Folding Fan,” which was on display at the expo.
Moreover, Fan Zheng’an, the sixth-generation inheritor of the national-level intangible cultural heritage “Taishan Shadow Puppet,” performed the classic tale of Wu Song battling the tiger. This year’s expo aims to fully highlight the results of intangible cultural heritage protection in China.
