On October 22, the News Office of the People’s Government of Xining held a press conference for the “Exceptional Summer City: Making Your Home in Ning” 2024 Xining Autumn Housing Expo.
During the event, Ma Jiequn, President of the Xining Real Estate Industry Association, shared insights on the expo, which adhered to the principle of “government providing the platform, businesses taking the stage, and citizens benefiting.” From October 1 to 20, the expo showcased the theme “Exceptional Summer City: Making Your Home in Ning.”
It was reported that throughout the expo, Xining invited 21 real estate companies from within and outside the province, featuring 30 premium housing projects, alongside 4 home appliance and decoration companies, 4 cultural and tourism enterprises, and 6 financial institutions, in addition to departments like taxation and housing fund centers. The event took place at the Xining Central Square, where homebuyers received a subsidy of 20,000 yuan per housing unit and a “big appliance gift package.”
Li Jixing, Director of the Xining Housing Security and Real Estate Management Bureau, mentioned that the expo successfully boosted property transactions and revitalized the housing market. By October 20, there were 797 individuals who signed purchase agreements and paid deposits, with an equivalent number receiving prizes linked to home purchases. In total, the city recorded 1,248 newly signed contracts for residential properties, amounting to 152,600 square meters and a transaction value of 1.193 billion yuan—representing increases of 213.57%, 232.46%, and 201%, respectively, compared to the same period in 2023.
Li added that the expo effectively stimulated market demand and heightened activity levels. By October 20, 869 households had received a total of 17.38 million yuan in purchase subsidies, which significantly invigorated citizens’ demand for housing upgrades. The program providing 20,000 yuan subsidies per household will continue, but only 1,000 spots remain before the program’s conclusion on December 10. Subsidies will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until they are fully distributed.
Ma Jiequn noted that the association will encourage real estate companies to enhance promotional activities by offering gifts, renovation subsidies, parking discounts, and home-buying packages. The aim is to create a diverse set of promotional strategies, building a strong marketplace for prospective homeowners while driving growth in both transaction volume and price stability, ultimately fostering a vibrant supply-demand landscape.
