Osimhen to be in Action as Galatasaray Host Elfsborg

Victor Osimhen, who recently scored a spectacular backflip goal that earned him the FIFA Puskas Award, is set to take the field this evening as Galatasaray hosts Sweden’s Elfsborg at Rams Park. This match marks the third game in their Europa League campaign, where Galatasaray currently sits in eighth place with four points. Meanwhile, Elfsborg finds itself in 16th place with three points after two games, vying for a spot in the round of 16 playoffs.

In their previous outings, Galatasaray faced RFS on October 3, ending in a dramatic 2-2 draw. Despite taking a two-goal lead within the first 38 minutes, they couldn’t secure the win. However, they did achieve a solid 3-1 victory against PAOK on September 25, showcasing a dominant performance with 25 shots and nine significant chances compared to PAOK’s seven attempts and two major opportunities.

Manager Okan Buruk must be pleased with his team’s performance in the Super Lig this season, as they sit five points ahead of second-placed Besiktas after just nine matches, although the Black and Whites have played only eight. Buruk’s squad has been in great form, winning seven and drawing two of their last nine competitive matches. They’ve lost only three times this season—twice in Champions League qualifiers and once against Besiktas in the Turkcell Super Cup final on August 3.

Galatasaray also boasts an impressive home record, having won four of their last five matches at Rams Park. Overall, they have achieved six victories, two draws, and just one loss in their past nine home fixtures in the Europa League.
