Nigerian Breweries Expends over 50m on Teachers, Infrastructure

In a significant recognition of educational excellence, Esomnofu Ifechukwu from Crown Grace School in Mararaba, Nasarawa State, has been awarded a remarkable cash prize of N10 million for winning the 10th edition of the Maltina Teacher of the Year Competition, organized by Nigerian Breweries. Alongside this generous prize, Ifechukwu will also receive an all-expense-paid overseas training aimed at enhancing his professional capacity, as well as N30 million worth of infrastructure improvements for his school.

The competition also recognized other outstanding educators. Kehinde Olukayode from Molusi College in Oke-Sopen, Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State, claimed the first runner-up position and was awarded N3 million. Meanwhile, Aniefiok Udoh from Community Secondary Commercial School in Uyo LGA, Akwa Ibom State, secured the second runner-up spot with a cash prize of N2 million. Additionally, 34 other teachers who were honored as State Champions from their respective regions received N1 million each.

In a message of support, Lagos State Executive Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Alli-Balogun, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Nigerian Breweries-Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund for their ongoing commitment to the education sector through this competition. He also acknowledged the vital role teachers play in shaping a brighter future, despite the numerous challenges they face in their profession.
