On October 21, news emerged from the Shenyang Cultural Tourism and Radio Television Bureau about an exciting cultural initiative. A delegation from the “September 18” Historical Museum of Shenyang recently traveled to Tacheng, Xinjiang, to promote the “Six Places” red culture of Liaoning and engage in cultural exchange activities.
This event not only strengthened the cultural ties between Shenyang and Tacheng but also sowed the seeds of red culture across Xinjiang, fostering a new narrative of national unity and cultural integration.
The delegation focused on showcasing and interpreting the rich connotations and contemporary significance of the exhibition titled “Guarding the Monument and Passing on the Flame: Thematic Exhibition of Liaoning’s ‘Six Places’ Red Marks.” Their presentations took place in various venues, including the Tacheng Municipal Party School and No. 4 Middle School. They explored six key themes: the starting point of the War of Resistance Against Japan, the turning point of the Liberation War, sources of the national anthem of the new China, the deployment point for the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, the foundational site of the Republic’s industry, and the birthplace of Lei Feng’s spirit. Each theme was accompanied by passionate recounts of significant historical events.
At Tacheng No. 4 Middle School, the delegation engaged students and teachers with approachable language and interactive presentations, offering a captivating feast of red culture. Various activities encouraged participation, and after the presentations, students eagerly took to the stage to celebrate, expressing their enthusiasm through song and dance.
In addition to storytelling, the delegation showcased modern technology such as naked-eye 3D holographic projections to present Liaoning’s red culture in a more vivid and engaging manner. This innovative approach not only enriched the presentation style but also enhanced the overall impact, leaving a lasting impression on the local audience.
During the visit, the Shenyang delegation also toured local cultural sites, such as the Xiaobaiyang Border Outpost Exhibition Hall and the Red Building Museum, engaging in in-depth discussions with Tacheng cultural heritage professionals. Together, they reached a consensus on collaborative efforts in the research and interpretation of cultural relics and intangible heritage, focusing on the legendary stories of anti-Japanese heroes and national sentiments.
On October 19, a strategic cooperation signing ceremony for cultural heritage work between Shenyang and Tacheng was held at the Tacheng Accordion Exhibition Hall. This marks a new chapter where both regions will work hand-in-hand to explore and preserve outstanding traditional Chinese culture, revolutionary culture, and advanced socialist culture. By leveraging their cultural resources, they aim to co-host exhibitions, promote cultural tourism integration, and enhance talent exchange and intellectual support, injecting new vitality into the development of cultural heritage in both areas.
This “Six Places” red culture promotion and cultural exchange activity is more than a mere cultural collision; it provides a soul-stirring experience that resonates with both communities. It fosters deeper understanding and friendship rooted in shared historical memories.
