Recently, a significant event celebrating the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China was held in the Pudong New Area, organized by the Shanghai United Front Work Department, the Shanghai Publicity Department, the Shanghai Internet Information Office, and the Shanghai Municipal Youth League. The event was led by the Shanghai Xinlian Association and co-hosted by the Pudong New Area Xinlian Association, under the theme “Gathering New Momentum: Network Individuals in Celebration.”
At the event, the Pudong New Area Network Individuals Innovation and Entrepreneurship Service Team was established. This initiative aims to launch an action plan to support innovation and entrepreneurship among internet professionals, introduce the Pudong New Area “E-Sci-Tech” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Camp, and implement the “Internet + Intangible Cultural Heritage” brand incubation project.
Li Xia, a senior inspector at the Shanghai United Front Work Department and secretary of the Shanghai Association of European and American Overseas Students, emphasized that the “Gathering New Momentum” theme event serves as an important platform for internet professionals to leverage their strengths in supporting national strategies and regional economic and social development. She expressed hope that network individuals would further consolidate their ideological consensus, maintain a correct political direction, and positively impact the broader objectives of the community by telling compelling Chinese stories.
The inaugural members of the Pudong Network Individuals Innovation and Entrepreneurship Service Team, which includes 62 members from leading internet companies in areas such as artificial intelligence, are set to merge online and offline resources. They will utilize their expertise as innovation and entrepreneurship mentors, collaborating closely with incubators and service organizations in Pudong New Area to create a service list tailored to the needs of small and medium-sized innovative enterprises. The team also plans to organize training sessions and professional forums to provide intellectual, technical, and resource support to emerging small businesses through online connectivity and AI empowerment.
The “E-Sci-Tech” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Camp will recruit outstanding founders from the tech and innovation sector, as well as aspiring young entrepreneurs. Participants will have the opportunity to experience the vibrant technological innovation environment in Pudong, engage in face-to-face discussions with industry leaders, and receive one-on-one practical support, all aimed at attracting and nurturing top entrepreneurial talent to foster a thriving ecosystem of innovation.
The “Internet + Intangible Cultural Heritage” brand incubation project, developed by the Pudong New Area United Front Work Department and the Gaoqiao Town Party Committee, leverages internet platforms to enhance the capabilities of freelancers in the creative industry. This includes hosting the “Seeking Beauty in Intangible Heritage: Brightening Pudong” cultural design competition, which will continue to harness the wisdom of both network professionals and heritage inheritors in its subsequent phases.
During the event, attendees had the opportunity to learn about the development journey of Zhangjiang Science City, explore innovative entrepreneurial stories, and view cutting-edge technological achievements. They visited the “Innovation Practice Base for New Social Classes” at the Gaoqiao Embroidery Museum and an exhibition showcasing award-winning works from the cultural creativity competition.
Liang Shunlong, the rotating vice president of the Shanghai Xinlian Association, along with vice presidents Chen Junjie, Liu Wei, Yang Hui, and representatives from various sectors, engaged in discussions centered on the theme of “Connecting Networks, Hearts, and Wisdom to Paint a New Picture of Shanghai’s ‘Five Centers’ Construction.” Network professionals expressed their commitment to leveraging their strengths to highlight the great achievements of regional development and collaboratively create a “circle of unity” online and offline.
