Lana Del Rey, the Grammy-winning singer, has officially tied the knot with Jeremy Dufrene, an alligator tour guide from New Jersey, according to recently surfaced marriage documents. The couple wed in September in Louisiana, and the court records confirm their marriage registration.
After weeks of speculation, the signed marriage certificate was submitted to the Lafourche Parish courthouse on October 18. The officiant for their ceremony was Judah Smith, a Los Angeles pastor known for also officiating the wedding of Justin Bieber.
Interestingly, Lana’s fifth track on her 2023 album “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd” features Smith as a co-writer in a piece titled “Judah Smith Interlude.”
Entertainment news outlet TMZ initially reported that Lana and Dufrene registered their marriage on September 23 and held a private ceremony shortly after. The AP confirmed that the Lafourche Parish court clerk received the official marriage documents on the same date, although they were not immediately processed.
According to the clerk’s office, state regulations require that the marriage certificate be submitted by the officiant within ten days post-ceremony, although there are exceptions.
The marriage certificate reveals that 39-year-old Lana and 49-year-old Dufrene were married at 3:33 PM on September 26 in Des Allemands, Louisiana, where Dufrene works as a captain for Airboat Tours by Arthur. The certificate also lists a residence in a non-incorporated area of St. Charles Parish as their new marital home.
While the exact timeline of their relationship remains unclear, photos of the couple together date back to 2019, when Lana joined one of Dufrene’s tours.
Lana Del Rey has received 11 Grammy nominations throughout her career, celebrated for her nostalgic and romantic pop music that often incorporates retro imagery. She has released nine studio albums, with her most famous being the multi-platinum 2012 record “Born to Die,” featuring the hit song “Summertime Sadness.”
