Fujian Association in Quebec, Canada celebrates its 15th anniversary

On October 12, the Quebec Fujian Association celebrated its 15th anniversary in Montreal. The event drew over 500 attendees, including representatives from the Chinese Consulate in Montreal, various Chinese community organizations, and local residents from Fujian.

In his speech, Association President Luo Haosheng reflected on the organization’s development over the years. He emphasized the association’s commitment to strengthening bonds among members, promoting cultural heritage, organizing root-seeking journeys for the younger generation, and actively participating in efforts to enhance cohesion within the Asian community. He also expressed confidence in the future direction of the association. Honorary President Liu Shengsheng shared his gratitude for the continued support from the community.

Speeches congratulating the association on its anniversary were delivered by several dignitaries, including He Miao, Deputy Consul General of China in Montreal; Cao Shoukang, President of the Montreal Chinese United Association; Huang Xing, President of the Quebec Chinese Community Federation; and Li Xixi, a city councilor from Baoleshan. They all acknowledged the association’s valuable contributions to community development.

The celebration featured performances by local Chinese arts groups and Fujian residents, showcasing a variety of acts including traditional Chinese and Western songs and dances, a qipao fashion show, instrumental performances, and martial arts demonstrations. The event also included lucky draws and a special segment honoring the elderly and giving red envelopes to the youth. The atmosphere was vibrant and joyful, reflecting the strong sense of community among attendees.
