On October 8, a reporter from China News highlighted the impressive travel activity during the Golden Week holiday in Ningxia. The region’s three airports collectively managed 1,515 flights, accommodating around 216,000 passengers. Notably, October 6 emerged as the busiest day, with over 33,000 travelers passing through the airports.
The surge in travel demand was attributed to many people returning home to connect with family or embarking on vacations. Prior to the holiday, ticket sales indicated that popular destinations from Yinchuan included major metropolitan areas like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Urumqi, Hangzhou, and Kunming. Starting September 27, Yinchuan Airport reintroduced flights to Guilin and Dalian and boosted the frequency of flights to 12 other cities, including Shanghai, Guangzhou, Sanya, Haikou, Shijiazhuang, Qingdao, Zhengzhou, Shenyang, Hohhot, Urumqi, Xi’an, and Xining.
With domestic tourism rebounding and an increased enthusiasm for travel, Ningxia Airport Company made strategic adjustments to meet market demands. Throughout the holiday, they ensured smooth operations for flights to popular destinations such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Kunming, Chongqing, Shenzhen, and Urumqi. The airports in Ningxia displayed remarkable adaptability in resource management, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency and maintaining on-time performance.
To cater to the diverse needs of travelers during the holiday, the three airports in Ningxia introduced several innovative service measures. On National Day, Yinchuan Airport organized a range of cultural activities within the terminal, creating a lively festive atmosphere and enriching the overall travel experience. Throughout the holiday period, Ningxia airports prioritized support for vulnerable groups, including the elderly, young children, pregnant women, and first-time flyers. This initiative included comprehensive services like flight guidance, luggage assistance, wheelchair reservations, and dedicated fast-track lanes, effectively addressing the travel hurdles faced by these special passengers.
