The -Innovation+- Special Committee of the Northeast Asia Local Government Association was established

On October 23, Zhangjiajie, China, Liu Man reports that from October 21 to 24, the inaugural conference of the “Innovation+” Special Committee and the “Green Development” meeting of the Northeast Asia Regional Local Government Association took place in Zhangjiajie, Hunan. Nearly a hundred guests from 22 local governments and relevant international organizations across China, Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, and Russia attended the event.

The Northeast Asia Regional Local Government Association stands as the largest organization for local governments in the region, fostering practical collaboration among its members and promoting Northeast Asia as one of the world’s fastest-growing and most promising areas.

Utilizing this platform, Hunan Province has enhanced its economic and trade cooperation with countries in Northeast Asia. In 2023, Hunan’s total imports and exports with Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, and Russia reached 62.95 billion yuan. Moreover, the province has established over 80 overseas enterprises in these four countries, with a total investment amounting to 340 million USD from Chinese contracts.

In October 2018, the 12th Plenary Session of the Northeast Asia Regional Local Government Association was held in Zhangjiajie, where it was decided to create the “Innovation+” Special Committee, with Hunan Province designated as the permanent coordinator. The official establishment of this committee is expected to further promote deeper exchanges and cooperation in innovation between Hunan and the various member local governments.
