On the evening of October 18, the final match of the 2024 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Ice Hockey Invitational took place at the Qiqihar Winter Sports Center ice rink. The game featured the Qiqihar ice hockey team from China going head-to-head against the HC Primorye team from Russia. Ultimately, HC Primorye emerged victorious, securing the championship title.
In the first period, it was HC Primorye’s number 33, Artem, who struck first, scoring at 5 minutes and 48 seconds to put his team ahead 1-0. Just before the end of the period, at 18 minutes and 15 seconds, number 55, Podshyavkin, landed another goal, doubling the lead to 2-0.
As the second period progressed, both teams tightened their defenses. However, at 38 minutes and 12 seconds, HC Primorye’s number 1 player committed a major penalty, giving Qiqihar a numerical advantage. They attempted several threatening attacks but could not penetrate the Russian team’s defense.
The third period passed without any goals from either side. As the final whistle blew, HC Primorye secured the win with a score of 2-0, clinching the championship trophy, known as the “Great Collision Cup.” The Naren Eagle team took home the runner-up title, while AHL Almaty claimed third place.

The 2024 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Ice Hockey Invitational is an international event involving participating countries within the SCO framework. It is organized under the guidance of the Chinese Ice Hockey Association and the Heilongjiang Provincial Sports Bureau, supported by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Friendly Cooperation Committee and the Heilongjiang Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, with the Qiqihar Municipal Government as the host. The tournament is running from October 16 to October 21 at the Qiqihar Winter Sports Center ice rink, featuring four teams in the adult category and five teams in the youth category from SCO member states.
