On September 23, Jiamusi City in Heilongjiang Province hosted the 2024 Northeast Asia Dental Equipment Exhibition alongside the “China Dental City” Industry High-Quality Development Conference. With the theme “Together in Pursuit of ‘China Dental City,’ Winning the Future of the Dental Industry,” the event attracted a diverse group of professionals from both domestic and international dental sectors eager to explore the vast potential and opportunities within the industry.
Attendees were treated to a showcase of cutting-edge dental technology, including facial scanners, dental treatment chairs, and surgical microscopes. Dr. Zhou Libo, head of the Digital Implant Department at Jiamusi University Affiliated Dental Hospital, remarked on the evolution of dental implants: “In the past, getting a dental implant was often a costly and prolonged process that involved invasive surgery, which discouraged many patients. Now, with the advent of dental implant robots, we can input treatment plans ahead of time, allowing these robots to autonomously perform the surgery in a minimally invasive and pain-free way.” He emphasized how advancements in the digital dental industry have made implant technology safer and more stable.
Jiamusi, recognized as a key city in eastern Heilongjiang, boasts a three-tiered dental healthcare system that includes top-tier hospitals, public specialty support, and well-regulated private institutions. Dental services now represent over one-third of the provincial market and account for more than a quarter of Heilongjiang’s denture manufacturing capability. Since launching the “China Dental City” initiative in 2022, Jiamusi has successfully attracted numerous high-tech enterprises to the area. The Northeast Asia Dental Equipment Exhibition is anticipated to provide a significant boost to the ongoing development of “China Dental City.”
The conference, spanning three days, featured both product exhibitions and academic exchange seminars. A total of 30 cooperative projects were signed, amounting to 1.275 billion yuan. Ms. Yemi Kieva from Russia expressed her excitement about the event, stating, “The exhibition is rich with content and showcases many innovative, intelligent, and digital instruments. I’ve purchased some dental products and can’t wait to try them out, hoping this leads to future collaboration opportunities.”
Looking ahead, Jiamusi City plans to accelerate the development of “Dental Town,” aiming to integrate valuable resources and create a complete industry chain that encompasses research and development, production, marketing, and service. There are intentions to strengthen partnerships with universities, research institutions, and dental service providers to establish talent training bases and foster collaboration between industry, academia, and research. This initiative aims to drive the digital, intelligent, and personalized evolution of dental services while positioning “China Dental City” at the forefront of the industry.
